CHINNAR WILD LIFE SANCTUARY IN MUNNAR
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Marayoor in Idukki district of Kerala. This wildlife sanctuary is located in the rain shadow region of the Southern Western Ghats. The Thuvanam Falls on the Pambar River, located inside the wildlife sanctuary, is a major tourist attraction. The area under the sanctuary is also home to the Muthuva, Hill Pulaya and other tribal groups. Elephants, Indian leopards, spotted deer, Indian gaur, Bengal tiger, Sambar deer, grey langur (Hanuman monkey), Chambal mountain squirrel (this is also the only forest area in Kerala with its unique habitat), about 225 species of birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians, butterflies, various species of spiders and many more. Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is also a habitat for animal life. It is the only rehabilitation centre for star tortoises in India. A variety of flora and deciduous forests are found within the sanctuary.

FOLKLORE MUSEUM IN COCHIN

MARINE DRIVE IN COCHIN
It is a confluence of a beautiful backwater, a port, and a bustling city. Marine drive or A P J Abdul Kalam Marg is a 3-km-long walkway along the backwaters. SANTACRUZ BASILICA
The famous Santa Cruz basilica is a blend of Portuguese, Dutch and Indo-European architectural styles. It is one of the nine basilicas in kerala. It is said to be over 500 years old. When the Dutch conquered Cochin, all but one or two catholic monuments were destroyed, but the Santa Cruz cathedral, which was the Dutch arsenal, was not damaged. However, it was damaged during the British occupation. One of the decorative granite pillars of the destroyed church is kept as a relic in the basilica. Located on an island in Cochin, bolgatty palace is the oldest Dutch palace outside the Netherlands. Set on eight acres of greenery, bolgatty palace fort is one of the major landmarks of Cochin. MATTANCHERY PALACE IN COCHIN
Although built by the Portuguese, this historic palace, also known as the Dutch, was used only by the rulers of Cochin. The Portuguese gifted this palace to the king of Cochin, Veera Kerala Varma. It is also known as the Dutch palace. The rulers of Cochin used this palace to hold ceremonies including coronations. It is built in the traditional four-storey style. The roof of the spacious halls is decorated with carved flowers on wood. The floor, made of a mixture of lime, plant sap, roasted coconut kernels and egg white, is also considered a special feature of the construction, and can easily be mistaken for black marble. MANGALADEVI KANNAGI TEMPLE IN THEKKADY
Mangaladevi Temple is a Hindu temple located in Mangaladevi, near the border districts of Theni and Idukki in the state of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This temple is located at an altitude of about 5000 feet above sea level. This 1000 year old temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Ganapathy and Karuppaswamy. Every year, the temple is opened for worship only during the Chitra Pournami festival (April and May). Devotees are allowed to enter the temple only on Chitra Pournami day. Private vehicles are not allowed here, so devotees visit the goddess in specially permitted vehicles and on foot and return to seek blessings. Legend has it that Kannaki, the heroine of the Tamil epic "Chilapathikaram", came here after burning the Pandya capital Madurai and stayed here for 14 days. It is believed that the temple is dedicated to Kannaki.

KRISHNAPURAM PALACE
The palace was built by King Marthanda Varma in the 18th century. Krishnapuram Palace is a structure that showcases the rich history of the Odanad rulers and the grandeur of Kerala architecture. After defeating the Kayamkulam king, Marthanda Varma ordered the construction of a new palace at that place and built a magnificent palace in the style of traditional Kerala architecture. Krishnapuram Palace is a traditional sixteen-story building with 22 rooms and 4 courtyards. Another special feature of the palace is that a 150 square feet mural painting dating back to the 18th century is located here. It is one of the largest mural paintings in Kerala. This famous "Gajendramoksham" mural painted in the 'Thevara' room amazes and welcomes everyone. An archaeological museum is also functioning in the palace. Ancient artifacts are displayed there.

KARUMADIKUTTAN STATUE IN ALLEPPEY
Karumadikuttan is a famous pilgrimage centre in Karumadikuttan village near Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district. It is also the only Buddhist pilgrimage centre in Kerala. Karumadikuttan, a 3-foot-tall black granite statue located overlooking Punnamada Lake, is a symbol of Kerala's Buddhist heritage. The Karumadikuttan statue is protected by a pagoda built by the Dalai Lama, a Buddhist monk who visited Karumadikuttan in 1965. The belief that miraculous healing can be obtained here attracts devotees from all over the world. Buddha Purnima is celebrated in Karumadikuttan every year.

AAZHIMALA SHIVA TEMPLE IN THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
This is a Hindu temple located on the coast of the Arabian Sea near Vizhinjam dedicated to Shiva, the temple is known for the 18 metre (58 feet) tall gangadhareshwara sculpture, which is the tallest Shiva sculpture in kerala. ‘Aazhi’ means ‘sea’, and ‘mala’ means ‘hill’ in Malayalam. This palace is located near the Napier museum in Thiruvananthapuram. It was built by Sri Moolam Thirunal. The Thiruvallam Sree Parasurama Swami temple is one of the oldest temples in kerala. It is the only temple dedicated to Parasurama. It is located on the banks of the Karamana River. The head of Padmanabhaswamy is kept in this temple, the feet in the Tripadapuram Mahadeva temple, and the body in the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple. PAZHAVANGADI GANAPATHY TEMPLE IN THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
Pazhavangadi Ganapathy Temple is a famous Hindu temple known for its idols, architecture and cultural significance: Idols. The temple houses several idols, including a unique Ganesha idol made of gold and precious stones, and another Ganesha idol made of pure granite architecture. The temple is a blend of Dravidian and Dakshina architecture. The walls and pillars of the temple are notable for their carvings.
